The Chips coffee shop in Hawthorne was a perfect location for "Hollywoodland" which was set in the late 50's.

The Chips coffee shop in Hawthorne was a perfect location for "Hollywoodland" (top) which was set in the late 50's.
I had to run out into the middle of the street several times to capture this photo, dodging several vehicles in the process...not to mention the rough neighborhood.

As I was gathering shots of this home for my Bugsy entry, I couldn't help but think that I've seen this home somewhere before. After searching my screen grabs I found this home in both movies House Bunny and Hollywoodland.
In Hollywoodland, a movie based on the life of Superman's George Reeves, Simo is seen here (top) approaching the home of Eddie Mannix, an MGM executive.

Sometimes a screenshot can captivate you, and this one shot of Diane Lane in Rumble Fish (via YouTube movie: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKN4bhhgPJc) has just kept me watching it on days on end.
